Bottle Whimseys
Bottle Whimseys are wood carvings assembled inside of bottles. They are a folk art tradition that dates back to the early 1800’s. Similar to Ships in Bottles, they are carved in pieces outside of the bottle, then all the pieces are dropped into the bottle and must be assembled inside through the narrow opening of the neck. They are put together with tiny wood pegs and glue. Click photos for larger image and details
